So many people have come together to welcome our new neighbors at Tree Lane Family Apartments and to make sure the LCEC expands wisely to be the warm hub people can depend on.
In order to accommodate all of the children and youth that moved into Tree Lane, the LCEC elementary program was bursting out of its two classroom spaces. Something had to be done! John Muir Elementary School is now the gracious new host for our K-1 classroom. We are loving this space, and our elementary school afterschool program is bigger and better than ever.
And the new classroom is not the only way we’ve grown! Knowing we had new neighbors to think about, our staff and volunteers went into overdrive, reaching out to local businesses and spreading the word to committed donors to secure backpacks and school supplies for all of these new school-aged children in our area.
