Elementary Program Lead Teacher – Part Time – Team up with the LCEC to provide in-person programming for small groups of young people. Program hours may shift depending on future MMSD decisions. Ideal candidates have both relevant youth work experience and an enthusiasm for working with young people and offering culturally relevant and enriching experiences. Ability to adapt to changes brought on by the pandemic is a must. Lead Teacher qualification is a plus. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
Middle School Program Lead – Part Time – The LCEC collaborates with MSCR to run Youth Resource Center (YRC) as our comprehensive afterschool and summer camp program for youth in grades 6-8. All middle-school programming emphasizes positive youth development, racial/social justice, and trauma informed approaches in enrichment activities focused on academic success, health and fitness, arts and creativity, and community service. The Middle School Afterschool & Summer Program Lead assists the Youth Programs Manager, Middle School Coordinator, and our AmeriCorps member to create, run, and evaluate middle-school programming for this diverse group of young people. Youth Programs Manager – Full Time – The Youth Programs Manager manages multi-person team to create comprehensive after school and summer programs for middle and high school students through Youth Resource Center (middle school) and Teen Build Up (high school). Programs are grounded in positive youth development, racial/social justice, and trauma informed and intrinsic motivation approaches in alignment with the Lussier Framework. Programming focus areas include: youth leadership and organizing, community service, academic, recreational, and arts programming. The Manager supervises a team of six staff and AmeriCorps members. The Manager spearheads planning, evaluation and assessment; leads partnership development and engagement; and ensures dynamic grant writing and reporting for after school and summer programming. Strong candidates will be highly relational, organized, and flexible. They will approach community center and youth work from a justice orientation. They will be able to manage a diverse set of hands-on responsibilities and multiple simultaneous projects, while supporting and motivating an effective staff team in a grassroots, collaborative, youth-focused setting. Communications & Development Coordinator – Full Time – The Communications and Development Coordinator builds awareness, raises funds, and communicates impact. They ensure the best in donor communications, data management, direct mail appeals, print and online newsletters, web and social media updates, planning/follow-through for events, and overall strengthening of the LCEC’s relationships with donors and partners. This position offers an ambitious professional the opportunity to gain significant experience in nonprofit communications and fundraising in partnership with a small team of experienced, committed, mission-driven individuals. Development Director – Full Time – As a member of the leadership team, the Development Director will lead the overall fund development efforts for the LCEC, building fund development capacity through a diverse array of strategies in support of a $1m operating budget. This person will have support (FTE Coordinator) to assist with marketing, communications and development tasks. In addition, the Executive Director will work closely with the Development Director to plan and implement the center’s fund development efforts. The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, understand the importance of relationships, and be willing to reach into the community to build and broaden relationships. They must also be highly organized, creative, and flexible with firsthand knowledge of fund development in non-profits and strong interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal). Community Engagement Manager – Full Time – The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for creating and facilitating relationships that allow a diverse array of people and organizations to share their time and skills to benefit our community through LCEC programs in alignment with the Lussier Framework. This position places and supports volunteers in LCEC staffed programs and manages all aspects of LCEC’s all-volunteer programs. Currently we engage over 400 volunteers per year in over 10,000 hours of volunteer work. Strong candidates will be highly relational, organized, and flexible. They will approach community engagement work from a justice orientation. They will be able to build strong relationships with people of many different backgrounds and provide meaningful experiences that fit both the needs of the Center and the various interests of community members and groups. Radio Station Manager – Part Time – The Radio Station Manager runs the LCEC low-power FM community radio station, 95.5 WWMV-LP Many Voices One Community radio. The Manager is responsible for the overall development and growth of WWMV-LP based on a vision which seeks to amplify the voices of communities of color and other groups underrepresented in local media, create experiential learning opportunities, and support community and youth empowerment. Directly and with a broad base of volunteers, the manager supports and coordinates all programming (over the airwaves and streaming), ensures FCC compliance, coordinates station communications/public relations, and assists with garnering funding/underwriting for the station. The ideal candidate will have strong radio, broadcast or music production experience; the ability to build relationships in communities of color and develop radio by and for communities of color; the ability to move multiple streams of work simultaneously; and excellent communication and public relations skills.
