Tuesday- Thursday
year-round
Beginning in 2012, the LCEC partnered with James Madison Memorial High School and the Madison Breakfast Optimists Club to open a commercial kitchen in our then-new building and launch a social enterprise. Why not?
Breakfast Club/Kids Café is the result.
Year-round, the LCEC employs an industrious team of young adults with disabilities who benefit from essential vocational training. Memorial High School provides two extraordinary special education assistants who oversee menu planning, meal preparation, service, and clean-up. The Breakfast Optimists get a fresh, hot meal each Tuesday morning. And kids in our programs get a hot, nutritious afternoon meal three days a week during the school year and a hot, nutritious breakfast five days a week during the summer, funded by the Second Harvest Kids Café Program.
