In July 2016 Karen was looking for a fulfilling way to get involved in the neighborhood she calls home, and the LCEC seemed a logical place to start. Today she volunteers weekly, cooking meals for our elementary afterschool program. She’s also volunteered with the radio station kick-off event, community dinners, and our annual holiday gift drive.
Last year Karen also decided to join the LCEC’s team of SOLID donors by making a recurring financial gift to the Center. “I always gave every time you asked,” Karen says, “and that was great. But this way you have consistent funds to carry out your mission, and I don’t worry about missing a chance to give.”
