Storytelling and improvisation are Ms. Jenna’s specialties. Since January this education associate from Children’s Theater of Madison has been working with our elementary afterschool students (pictured here with Miss Taylor of the LCEC). Miss Jenna’s focus on creating a fun and supportive learning environment for new performers fits perfectly with the LCEC’s environment and CTM’s educational mission.

In addition to hands-on theater education, Ms. Jenna also honors CTM’s “commitment to building the next generation of theater goers” by inviting LCEC afterschoolers to dress rehearsals of CTM’s professionally produced plays in the Playhouse at the Overture Center. So far, the students have attended Madagascar and Tuck Everlasting, during which they took in the sights and sounds of the theater from premium seats.

In coming months students will meet with Ms. Jenna weekly to rehearse their own production. We already see young people stepping out of their shells and exploring new facets of their personalities. Mark your calendar early to see these young stars shine at Gallery Night on May 11!
