Please join the LCEC staff in welcoming three new PASS AmeriCorps members to our team. You’ll most often find Uniqua Flowers (left) at Jefferson Middle School as part of our Youth Resource Center team, while Kayasia Blake and Tri Cox contribute to Teen Build Up, our collection of programs for high school youth. Can you guess which favorite food and book came from which AmeriCorp member?

FOOD: barbacoa tacos – mac and cheese with sugar – vegan West African Peanut Stew

BOOK: Salvage the Bones – A Child Called “It” – The Autobiography of Malcolm X

The LCEC is proud to be a site partner in PASS (Partners for After School Success), a multi-site youth development program run by the Dane County Department of Human Services. PASS AmeriCorps members serve in predominantly low-income or resource-scarce communities with the goal of addressing the unmet educational needs of middle and high school youth through literacy tutoring and academic support, providing extended learning programs that build social-emotional learning skills, and engaging youth in service to the community.
