Congratulations to Youth Action member Julieta Villordo (seen wearing a gray hat in our cover photo under the trees). Julieta was elected by her peers to the post of Governor at the Youth as Partners in Civic Leadership (YPCL) statewide conference this month! Julieta will spend the next year helping to plan the 2018 conference and will lead the big weekend next fall.
Youth Action attends this youth-led conference every year, leading and participating in workshops with youth from around the state. This year they led a workshop exploring gender as non-binary. “I was very impressed with the workshop our group put together,” High School Program Lead Richard Jones said. “Through the presentation our students were able to provide people with new knowledge and create lasting partnerships with other like-minded youth.”
