We’re so excited! A second group of Africa’s emerging public management leaders will be coming to Madison (and the LCEC) this summer. Their six-week academic and leadership institute is made possible through a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the U.S. State Department. Last year’s cohort toured our building and the children’s garden and discussed global perspectives on non-governmental organization (nonprofit) fund development, programming, and volunteer engagement.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship, the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), empowers young African leaders through in a variety of academic seminars, leadership trainings, site visits, community service opportunities and cultural exchange activities.
