Are you an 8th-grade student with big dreams for your future? Are you determined to overcome challenges and are committed to helping others? If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you! The Jane Burrows Buffett Scholars program, housed at the Lussier Community Education Center, is now accepting applications for the upcoming academic year (2023-2024).

This program supports the college aspirations of young people during the critical years leading up to higher education. Every year, four exceptional students are selected based on their dedication to assisting others, determination to surmount obstacles, and demonstrated potential to attend college.

As a Buffett Scholar, you will begin receiving support starting in 9th-grade, which includes academic guidance, leadership training, and assistance in planning for and applying to college. Scholars also receive funds for school supplies and self-development activities, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching experience.

The Buffett Scholars program is made possible by the generous support of Bill and Jan DeAtley, as well as an early anonymous donor. The endowment is held at the Madison Community Foundation and was created in honor of Jane Burrows Buffett, a long-time supporter, volunteer, and advocate for the LCEC.

If you are an ambitious 8th-grade student eager to make a difference in the world and see yourself connecting with the Lussier Center throughout your high school career, we encourage you to apply today! Embark on a journey that will provide you with the support and resources you need to achieve your college dreams and beyond. Applications are now open; take the first step towards a brighter future!
